Trading Range:

Nifty opened gap up at 10264 on Friday and made a high and low of 10273 and 10109 respectively before closing negative at 10122.

Review/Outlook:

For the day, support for Nifty exists at 10080 and 10000 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 10180 and 10220 levels.

Review/Outlook:

Bank Nifty opened gap up at 25410, made a high of 25441, low of 25153, and closed negative at 25192. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 25000 and 24800 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 25500 and 25700 levels.

Auto companies announced sales numbers for November 2017. On YoY basis, Maruti recorded sales growth of 14%, Ford India sales grew 29%, Hyundai sales grew 10%, Honda sales grew 47%, Bajaj Auto sales rose 21%, Suzuki Motorcycles sales were up 37%, Escorts tractor sales were up 7%, M&M sales were up 18%, and VE Commercial Vehicle sales were up 55%, and HMSI sales were up 41%. Emami Agrotech has started using inland waterways to ship edible oil to the North-East. (BL).
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Promius Pharma, LLC, announced its fifth consecutive, first-cycle NDA approval for the Proprietary Products Group, a substantial milestone within the pharmaceutical industry. (BL).
Mirc Electronics Ltd, which owns the Onida brand, on Sunday said its board has approved raising of equity investment of Rs. 144.12 crore from marquee investors to meet its long-term working capital and corporate requirements. (BL).
Staffing firm TeamLease Services said it has completed the 40.2 per cent stake acquisition in online learning company Schoolguru Eduserve, a move that will accelerate TeamLease’s employability strategy. (BL).
Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc has received tentative approval from the US health regulator to market pregabalin capsules, used for the management of certain kinds of seizures, nerve pain and fibromyalgia. (BL).
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Europe Ltd has received approval for an inhaled respiratory product in Nordic countries, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. (BL).
Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland has reported a 51 per cent jump in total sales at 14,460 units in November this year. The company had sold 9,574 units in the same month last year. (BL).
The 600 mw Unit 2 of Singareni Thermal Power Plant station, located at Jaipur village of Mancherial district in Telangana, has once again achieved 100 per cent plant load factor (PLF) in November. (BL).
The US Food and Drug Administration had on Friday approved Mylan NV's biosimilar of Roche's blockbuster treatment for breast cancer, Herceptin, making it the second copycat cancer drug to be approved in the United States. The FDA said Mylan's drug Ogivri, which was co-developed with Biocon, was the first biosimilar approved in the United States to treat breast or stomach cancer. (BL).
Tata Steel will acquire 74 per cent stake in Bhubaneshwar Power Private Ltd (BPPL) from JL Power Ventures Private Ltd for Rs 255 crore to ramp up its captive source of power. The acquisition provides an opportunity to Tata Steel to meet growing power demand, it added. (BL).
Promoters of debt-laden Bajaj Hindusthan Sugars will sell 10.6 per cent stake to lenders to settle Rs. 3,500 crore of bad debt as per a resolution plan approved by the RBI’s overseeing committee. (BL).
Power Finance Corporation has raised $ 400 million through its maiden green bond issue according to a company statement. (BL).
The Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group on Thursday said it would file a Rs 5,000-crore defamation suit against Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi for making false and defamatory statements. (BL).
The Expert Advisory Committee on industry has given environment clearance to Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC) for drilling and development of 19 exploratory wells at its Ahmedabad block in Gujarat. (BL).
IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Ltd has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a road contract from IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd (ITNL). Total value of the contract is Rs. 581.96 crores and it has a completion period of 21 months. (BL).
Economy and Sector News
The Centre is likely to come up with expression of interest (EOI) for strategic sale in three-to-four out of the 16 odd public sector units (PSUs) shortlisted. (BL).
The 200 Russian light helicopter Kamov-226T, or Ka-226T, will now be built completely using digital technology as part of the pilot project being run by its maker, Russian Helicopters, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation. (BL).
India has kick-started an ambitious project to build six nuclear-powered attack submarines that is expected to boost the Navy’s overall strike capabilities in the face of China’s naval build-up and increasing military manoeuvring in the Indo-Pacific region. (BL).
Retail inflation for industrial workers has risen marginally to 3.24 per cent in October mainly account of surge in price of food items. The year-on-year inflation measured by monthly CPI-IW, consumer price index for industrial workers, stood at 3.24 per cent for October, 2017, as compared to 2.89 per cent for the previous month (September 2017) and 3.35 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year. Food inflation stood at 2.26 per cent against 1.30 per cent in September and 2.99 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year. Food group contributed 1.94 percentage points to the total change. The All-India CPI-IW for October, 2017 increased by 2 points and pegged at 287. (BL).
The government has approved the establishment of a National Nutrition Mission to address serious incidence of malnutrition and stunting among infants in the country. The decision to launch the ₹9,000-crore nutrition mission was taken by the Cabinet on Thursday. The mission has set an ambitious goal of reducing incidence of stunting among children from 38.4 per cent now to 25 per cent by 2022. (BL).

US markets fell sharply on Friday, turning lower in midday trading following reports that Michael Flynn will testify about President Donald Trump. The Dow Jones Index closed at 24,232, down 40.76 points by 0.17%. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index closed at 2,642, down 5.36 points by 0.20%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 6,848, down 26.39 points by 0.38%.

FTSE 100
UK markets fell sharply on Friday, turning lower in midday trading following reports that Michael Flynn will testify about President Donald Trump. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,300, down 26.18 points by 0.36%.

Nikkei
Asian shares made a modest start to the week on Monday as the dollar was broadly higher on Monday, reaching a 2-1/2-week peak against the yen, receiving a boost after the U.S. Senate approved a tax overhaul over the weekend. The Nikkei 225 index is currently trading at 22,819, up 94.07 points by 0.41.

Precious Metals
Gold prices traded lower early on Monday, as the dollar gained after Republicans in the U.S. Senate passed a bill to overhaul the country's tax system, moving the process forward.

Base Metals
Lead closed at its highest level in six weeks on Friday December 1 while base metal prices rallied during late-Friday London Metal Exchange trading.

Crude Oil
Oil fell on Monday after U.S. shale drillers added more rigs last week, but prices held not far off their highest since mid-2015, supported by an extension of output cuts agreed last week by OPEC and other producers.
